In-person · Cincinnati, OHElectrical safety training in Cincinnati, OH
Cincinnati builds and tests jet engines in Evendale, sorts packages for one of the country's busiest cargo airports across the river, and now has data center campuses lining up in Butler County. We train the electrical crews who support those plants, hubs and new builds, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Cincinnati when you ask.
Private employers in Ohio are inspected by federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Ohio electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Cincinnati crew
Crews we train in and around Cincinnati: aerospace, air cargo and logistics, consumer goods, data center construction, utilities and contractors, municipal and public.
What the class covers for Cincinnati crews
Test cells combine large motor drives, controls and fuel systems in one enclosure. We cover how to separate electrical hazards from the other energy sources in a test stand and how to plan work when only part of the cell can be de-energized.
Air hubs and fulfillment buildings run conveyors and sorters through the night, and maintenance windows are short. We teach crews to plan troubleshooting with test instruments without drifting into energized repair.
New campuses in Butler County will bring switchgear, UPS systems and generators energized one building at a time. The 2-Day Intensive covers handoff from construction to operations and how host and contract employers share hazard information.
Crews here cross the Ohio River daily, from federal OSHA jurisdiction in Ohio to Kentucky's state plan at CVG. A single documented qualification program travels with your people regardless of which side of the bridge they work on.

Ohio: what applies to your crews in Cincinnati
Enforcement: federal OSHA, PERRP for public workers
Ohio has no OSHA-approved state plan. Private employers in Hamilton and Butler counties fall under federal OSHA's Cincinnati area office, and Ohio public employees are covered by PERRP under state law. Work at CVG and elsewhere in Northern Kentucky falls under Kentucky's own state plan.
Licensing: contractor at the state, journeyman by city
The Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board licenses electrical contractors statewide. Individual electrician licensing is local, and Butler County's two largest cities, Hamilton and Middletown, require journeyman licenses. Kentucky licenses electricians statewide through its Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction.
Where NFPA 70E fits
Federal OSHA has never enforced NFPA 70E. Cincinnati employers rely on it to show how they meet OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K, and the General Duty Clause gives OSHA a path to cite recognized electrical hazards that no specific standard addresses.
Cincinnati's electrical work environment
GE Aerospace is headquartered in Evendale, where the plant handles final assembly for engines including the CF6 and the LM2500 and LM6000 power units. In 2026 the company committed more than $115 million to the region, expanding the ceramic matrix composite lab in Evendale, adding metal 3D printing capacity in West Chester and upgrading test cells and hoists at Peebles. Engine test cells, furnaces and additive machines all bring large dedicated electrical services into otherwise ordinary industrial buildings.
Procter & Gamble runs its global headquarters downtown, and the logistics economy sits just south in Boone County, Kentucky. The Amazon Air Hub at CVG occupies 1,129 acres with a 3 million square foot sorting building and, by early 2026, more than 200 daily flights. DHL has operated a hub there since 1984 and employs about 2,500 people. Sortation lines, conveyors and charging systems at that scale keep electricians on energized equipment around the clock.
Data centers are the newest load. Amazon has filed plans for 18 buildings of about 220,000 square feet each on a 601-acre site south of Trenton, near a Duke Energy substation and the 692 MW Madison gas plant. In Hamilton, Logistix Property Group is planning a 100 MW, two-story data center in University Commerce Park, and the city has weighed a separate proposal of up to 240 MW near Miami University's Hamilton campus.

Duke Energy Ohio and the river-crossing grid
Duke Energy Ohio is the former Cincinnati Gas & Electric, which joined Duke when it bought Cinergy in April 2006. It delivers electricity across Cincinnati and its Ohio suburbs, and the new data center sites in Butler County are planned close to its transmission and to the 692 MW Madison gas plant near Trenton. A campus of 18 buildings will mean new substations and medium-voltage feeders energized in phases over several years.
For contractors, the practical issue is that the metro spans two states and several local systems. Before switching or planning an outage on a site in Hamilton, Butler County or Northern Kentucky, confirm which utility owns the service and get current fault current data. Arc flash labels built on another utility's numbers can understate the hazard at the main switchboard.
