4-Hour Qualified Electrical Worker Refresher
Half a day of 2027-edition NFPA 70E training for a crew that has already had the full class. It meets the NFPA 70E retraining interval of not more than three years, it is built around what changed and what your site got wrong since the last one, and it is never sold as initial training.

Who it is for
This class assumes the room already knows what an arc flash boundary is. It is for people who were qualified electrical workers before they walked in and will be when they walk out, and it spends the four hours on the parts that go stale.
Retraining is required at intervals not to exceed three years. If the last full class was two and a half years ago and nothing else has changed, this resets the record without taking a whole day off the floor.
NFPA 70E 2027 has been in effect since May 6, 2026 and supersedes 2024. A crew working from superseded material is not an expired-record problem, it is a content problem, and the refresher is where it gets closed.
A procedure change is a retraining trigger in its own right. If you revised your LOTO procedures, your permit form or your electrical safety program, the people who work to those documents need the change, not the fundamentals again.
If you authorize energized work, you need current training as much as the person doing the task. Supervisors often sit the refresher with their electricians, which is usually the first time both groups hear the same answer in the same room.
If anyone in the room has never had the full class
They belong in the 1-Day Qualified Electrical Worker class instead. The refresher does not build qualification from nothing, and we will say so before you book.
What the four hours cover
A refresher that repeats the eight-hour class at double speed is a date on a certificate. We build the four hours around the 2027 edition against the one your crew was trained on, the findings that keep coming back in audits, and your own paperwork as it reads today.
The additional-person rule, the permit at 130.3, contact thermal hazard, the study and label review rules, insulated tools, tagout devices. The full list →
Boundaries judged by eye, permits signed without a justification, PPE chosen from the wrong table, verification skipped on the second shift.
The crew reads your permit form and your LOTO procedure the way an inspector would, and finds what no longer matches.
A documented check with a 75% minimum, an updated qualification form, and a certificate that names the 2027 edition.
