In-person · Manassas, VAElectrical safety training in Manassas, VA
Manassas puts a working memory fab, defense electronics and some of Prince William County's largest data center campuses within a few miles of each other. We train the crews who keep that equipment running, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Manassas when you ask.
Virginia runs its own OSHA-approved state plan. Private employers here are inspected by Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH), Virginia Department of Labor and Industry; standards adopted by the Virginia Safety and Health Codes Board, not federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Virginia electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Manassas crew
Crews we train in and around Manassas: semiconductor manufacturing, defense and aerospace, data center construction and operations, municipal utilities, healthcare, electrical contractors.
What the class covers for Manassas crews
Micron's modernization means new tools, new feeds and tie-ins inside a plant that stays in production. We cover energized-work justification and permits for equipment that cannot easily go down.
QTS and CloudHQ buildings come online one hall at a time. Crews must know exactly which gear is live today, even when the building around it is still under construction.
City of Manassas Utilities, Dominion Energy and NOVEC all serve the area. Crews need to know whose equipment they are near and who to call before work at the service point.
Defense contractors and their electrical vendors work under access and escort rules that shape how energized work gets planned. We fit the class and any equipment walk-downs around those restrictions.

Virginia: what applies to your crews
Enforcement: VOSH
Virginia's state plan is run by VOSH within the Department of Labor and Industry. It covers private employers plus the City of Manassas, Prince William County and other public employers. Work on federal property stays under federal OSHA.
Licensing: journeyman and master
DPOR's Board for Contractors licenses individual journeyman and master electricians across Virginia, and electrical contractors hold a separate Class A, B or C license. The license covers installation work, not safe work practices on energized equipment.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is a consensus standard. VOSH inspectors and employers use it to show how the electrical requirements in OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K are met and how recognized hazards are controlled.
Manassas's electrical work environment
Manassas is an independent city of about 43,000 people and the seat of Prince William County. Micron is its largest employer, making DRAM at its wafer fab on Godwin Drive, and Lockheed Martin employs about 1,500 people in the city. Manassas Regional Airport, the busiest general aviation airport in Virginia, has its own cluster of aviation and maintenance businesses.
Data centers fill the land around the city line. QTS is building out a 105-acre, six-building campus on Godwin Drive. CloudHQ is building a three-building campus just south of Routes 28 and 234. Iron Mountain already runs a multi-building campus in Prince William County, and in late 2024 it paid $113.5 million for Manassas Point, a 40-acre site planned around a 300 MW substation.
Few places put a semiconductor fab, a defense plant and a hyperscale campus this close together. A Manassas contractor can go from process power in a cleanroom to a data hall battery room in the same week, and a qualification program has to account for both.
City of Manassas Utilities, Dominion and NOVEC
The City of Manassas has supplied its own electricity since 1913, and the American Public Power Association recognized its 100 years of service. Outside the city line, Dominion Energy and NOVEC serve Prince William County. The developer of Iron Mountain's Manassas Point site coordinated service with both NOVEC and Dominion.
Large campuses here are built around their own substations, often with dedicated high-voltage feeds. That puts utility interface points, high-voltage switching and big standby generator fleets inside the fence, where plant crews and utility crews meet.
