In-person · Mobile, ALElectrical safety training in Mobile, AL
Mobile builds airliners at Brookley, submarine modules on the river and steel slabs at Calvert, all around a harbor that now has a 50-foot channel. We train the electrical crews who keep that work moving, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Mobile when you ask.
Private employers in Alabama are inspected by federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Alabama electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Mobile crew
Crews we train in and around Mobile: aerospace, shipbuilding, steel, chemical plants, port and logistics, power generation.
What the class covers for Mobile crews
Final assembly hangars mix tooling power, ground power and test systems on aircraft that are partly energized. We tie arc flash and shock risk assessment to those specific tasks.
Submarine module work and hull construction rely on temporary power in tight, conductive spaces. We teach verifying absence of voltage in places where the circuits keep changing.
Calvert's furnace and the new electrical steel plant bring high-capacity transformers and medium-voltage switching online. The 2-Day Intensive covers switching, stored energy and the commissioning hand-off.
Theodore plants operate classified areas and face Gulf storm surge. We plan restoration work that treats flooded and backfed equipment as energized until tested.

Alabama: what applies to your crews in Mobile
Enforcement: federal OSHA from Mobile
Alabama runs no OSHA state plan, and federal OSHA keeps an area office in Mobile alongside Birmingham. Shipyard work also falls under the Part 1915 standards. City and county employees are not covered.
Licensing: statewide contractor and journeyman
Electrical contractors and journeymen in Mobile are licensed by the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board, which requires exams and continuing education to renew.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is not an OSHA rule, and OSHA does not enforce it. Mobile employers use it to show how they comply with 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K, and OSHA can still cite the General Duty Clause.
Mobile's electrical work environment
Aerospace and shipbuilding share the waterfront. Airbus inaugurated its second A320 final assembly line at Brookley in October 2025, giving the site three lines and more than 2,000 employees across 2.5 million square feet. On the Mobile River, Austal USA is building a new module fabrication hall under a $450 million Electric Boat contract for Navy submarine modules, expected to support about 1,000 jobs.
North of the city, the AM/NS Calvert mill made its first electric arc furnace heat in June 2025, adding about 1.5 million metric tons of slab capacity to a mill originally built for about $4 billion. ArcelorMittal is also building a $1.2 billion non-grain-oriented electrical steel plant at Calvert, with production expected in 2027. Beacon AI Centers announced a data center hub on a 650-acre Mobile County site in July 2026.
South Mobile County is chemical country. Evonik has run its Theodore Industrial Park campus since 1976 with about 750 employees and more than 250 resident contractors. The $366 million Mobile Harbor Modernization Project finished in 2025, and APM Terminals Mobile expects ships of 12,000 to 16,000 TEUs.

Alabama Power and Plant Barry
Alabama Power serves Mobile and most of the southern part of the state from its Birmingham headquarters. Its largest local station is Plant Barry in Mobile County, where the 727 MW Unit 8 combined-cycle unit began serving customers in November 2023, pairing a gas turbine with a steam turbine.
Industrial load around the bay is climbing. An electric arc furnace, a new electrical steel line, expanding aircraft hangars and proposed data centers all need new service capacity. That brings substation construction and medium-voltage tie-ins to sites where production never stops.
