In-person · Twin Falls, IDElectrical safety training in Twin Falls, ID
Twin Falls is the processing hub of Idaho's Magic Valley, home to what opened as the world's largest yogurt plant and to cheese, potato and sugar plants that run on milk and crops from the surrounding farms. We train the electrical crews who keep Magic Valley food plants running, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Twin Falls when you ask.
Private employers in Idaho are inspected by federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Idaho electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Twin Falls crew
Crews we train in and around Twin Falls: dairy processing, potato and sugar, refrigeration and cold storage, construction and expansion, farm and irrigation, public employers.
What the class covers for Twin Falls crews
Dairy and potato plants hose down equipment every day. We cover how moisture and damaged enclosures raise shock risk and how to assess motor and control gear before opening it.
Cold storage and process cooling rely on large compressors and their motor control centers. We cover arc flash risk on that equipment and coordinating lockout with refrigeration staff.
Chobani and other plants build new capacity while production continues. We cover the boundary between construction crews and the energized plant, and who controls switching.
Processors like Glanbia own their own substations. We help plant electricians understand where utility-type work rules apply and where NFPA 70E governs.

Idaho: what applies to your crews
Enforcement: federal OSHA
Twin Falls County has no state plan coverage. Private plants answer to the federal OSHA Boise Area Office, and city, county, college and school district employees have no OSHA coverage at all.
Licensing: DOPL
Idaho issues statewide electrician licenses through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses, with the Idaho Electrical Board setting the rules. A license shows NEC installation knowledge, not training in safe energized work.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is a voluntary standard that OSHA does not enforce. Magic Valley processors use it to show how they meet OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K, and OSHA can still cite the General Duty Clause for recognized hazards.
Twin Falls's electrical work environment
Chobani opened its Twin Falls plant in 2012 with a $750 million investment and called it the world's largest yogurt facility. The state's dairy processor guide describes the site at nearly one million square feet. In October 2025 Chobani announced a $500 million expansion to raise output by nearly half, including a booster pump station to draw another million gallons of water a day.
Glanbia is the largest dairy processor in Idaho and the top American cheddar producer in the country, with plants in Twin Falls and Gooding. Its 2014 expansion included paying for a 30 MW substation at Gooding. Lamb Weston runs a potato plant in west Twin Falls with about 500 workers, and Amalgamated Sugar makes White Satin sugar here.
North of the Snake River canyon, Jerome is a dairy processing town of its own. Agropur makes cheese and whey there, Magic Valley Quality Milk can take in 2.7 million pounds of milk a day at a plant finished in 2018, and Idaho Milk Products and Commercial Creamery run plants nearby. High Desert Milk in Burley and Brewster Cheese in Rupert extend the chain east.

Idaho Power and the Snake River canyon
Idaho Power serves the Magic Valley from a system built on 17 hydroelectric plants across the Snake River basin. The Shoshone Falls plant on the Snake near Twin Falls dates to 1907, was the first power plant in the Magic Valley and is rated at about 14.7 MW today.
Food plants here draw serious load. Glanbia paid for a 30 MW substation at Gooding as part of one expansion, and Chobani's newest expansion adds pumping as well as production. A plant that owns its substation has its own medium voltage switching to manage, and the people who operate it need training for that equipment specifically.
